{The Girlie Stuff}

If you are like most girls then you are very concerned about one of these things; your skin, your hair, your weight, your nails, and overall your appearance. I happen to fall in all of the categories listed above. My hair is sort of puffy so I have to always heat style it in order for it to be worthy of going out. My skin is decent with an occasional break out here and there, nothing major. My nails tend to chip really easily which is so not fun. But the main concern and topic to be discussed in this blog post would be my weight issue. I have a pear shaped body. For those who are not familiar with that, it's a body shape that is small on top and slightly heavier on the bottom (in my case, way heavier on bottom than on top which equal un proportional body shape). I have always wrestled with my body image and self esteem due to that. When I was a pre-teen I was quite heavy but around the age of 14 I lost almost all of my baby fat because I had a slight eating disorder. I started gaining weight again around the age of 17 and now I'm in the "unwanted zone". I have reached the level where I feel very uncomfortable with myself and have started annoying those people around me with my self-esteem issues. I have decided to resolve them though because I am tired of fighting with myself. Yes, I enjoy food and that will never change, but I have to do something about it before I end up weighing more than an elephant. I have been keeping a food diary which is an awesome thing to do because that way I am more aware of what I put in my mouth which in turn makes me eat less because I am constantly debating whether I want to write down a certain food that I ate. I'm not an athletic person at all so when I find those YouTube gurus that talk about losing weight I get somewhat discouraged as soon as they start talking about all the exercise involved in losing weight. I would rather starve than run a mile, but I know from experience that depriving yourself from food makes you gain weight even faster as soon as you put something fattening in your mouth. I am striving each and every day to achieve a goal and I have learned that cutting out a LOT (majority) of the foods I eat or at least resizing the portions has helped me lose at least 5 pounds in 2 months. I didn't work out much, because like I already said before I'm not athletic, but did stop eating fast food and drinking soda. This small change has been evident. I will be back with more of my losing weight updates next month. Wish me luck!
